The
ElisabethC.MillerBotanical Garden updated its Great Plant Picks, a selection of plants geared for the
Pacific Northwest. Each year the garden chooses dozens of plants from perennials and bulbs to vines. More than 65 plants made the list this year.
Selection criteria include ornamental value, ease of care and pest and disease resistance. Plants are also judged on adaptability to a variety of soils, lack of invasive qualities, multiple seasons of interest and not requiring excessive moisture, except aquatic plants.
